Background

  • In April 2008, Mirvac lodged a redevelopment application for Kawana Shoppingworld with the Sunshine Coast Council.
  • Council then issued a request for further information, seeking more detail on the scope of the proposed redevelopment and identifying a number of issues to be considered and clarified.
  • Since that time Mirvac has held numerous meetings and workshops with Council and State Government agencies, as well as with the centre's design team.
  • As a result, the centre's redevelopment plans have been modified and on Friday 29 October 2010 the revised plans were submitted to Council for assessment.

  • A remix of centre tenancies and the introduction of new retailers
  • A major program of refurbishments and new fit-outs for existing tenancies, with 56 completed to date
  • Programming for the refurbishment of the food court
  • Detailed design of Internal mall upgrades, including finishes and furnishings
  • Reconfiguration of the fresh food precinct, including a remix.
