Town Square Artist Impression

Kawana Shoppingworld is pleased to announce that a Development Application has been submitted for a $110 million expansion of the Centre.

Developed by the Centre owners, Mirvac, the plan proposes up to 20,000 square metres of additional retail space, incorporating an 8-screen cinema complex, supermarket, discount department store, a Town Square and over 1,000 more parking spaces.

The plan is designed to significantly enhance the Kawana Shoppingworld retail experience, and if approved will increase vitality and variety, while also improving accessibility and general comfort and convenience for our customers.

The proposed expansion responds directly to the outcome of research undertaken in the local community, which shows demand for a broader mix of retailers, entertainment opportunities and parking.

The plan has been lodged with the new Sunshine Coast Regional Council and must now go through a formal approval process, which may take several months.  While we are in the early stages of the project, we are confident that the proposed expansion will better meet the needs of the local community, improving the overall trading and catchment area for the Centre.
